In 2012, the first Highline Festival hosted at Smith Rock State Park was attended by 60 slackliners from all over the country.
With a total of eight highlines rigged, it included the longest established line at the time. “Overdose” was authored at the festival by Jerry Miszewski and Chris Rigby--an amazing 378′ long.

It extended to nearby Steelhead Falls, with a chance to cool off with ten foot drops into the icy water below.
The original founder, Brian Mosbaugh, has since moved to be a part of the Moab Monkeys. He went on to organize the following year's festival, but has since moved on to other pursuits.
